Mattresses

All of the Life-Safety™ series mattresses are two-sided. The quality and craftsmanship of a Bourdons mattress is clearly visible and second-to-none.

Bourdons Inverted Seam Innerspring mattress is bed bug resistant. The Inverted Seam Innerspring mattress is yet another member of the latest generation of Life-Safety™ mattresses developed by Bourdons.

After extensive testing Bourdons is pleased to offer the Inverted Seam Innerspring mattress to address the bed bug situation. The Inverted Seam Innerspring mattress is constructed with the same superior quality components that Bourdons Life-Safety™ mattresses have had for years, but without the tape edge. Eliminating the tape edge eliminates the favorite place that bed bugs like to reside, making the mattress less prone to accommodate bed bug habitation. It also allows any spilled liquid to cascade off the mattress rather than puddle up along the tape edge.

The Life-Safety™ mattress utilizes a 312-13-6 Bonnell innerspring complete with the new power-edged spring technology and finished with a six-gauge border rod.

Each side of the innerspring is supplied with a permulator, which helps to prevent the upholstery layers from being forced down into the innerspring unit. We then apply a heavy duty insulator pad and multiple layers of upholstery padding to each side. The unit is then finished with a plush layer of upholstery fibers for added comfort and encapsulated in our non-toxic fire barrier.

The Life-Safety™ mattresses are supplied with a multi-layer pre-built border that enhances the edge of the mattress.

The Life-Safety™ mattresses are designed not to add any fuel load to a fire, thus reducing personal liability exposure and greatly reducing property damage. We strongly recommend the Life-Safety™ mattresses in both sprinklered and non-sprinklered facilities.

Box Springs

Bourdons contract box spring is designed to meet the rigid standards of the commercial market. The metal spring is constructed using 81-coil, 9-gauge unit. The unit shall have a one piece welded grid top with position leveling coils. The coils are original squiggle base coils and are mounted to 1" x 3" kiln dried spruce base.

The box spring is upholstered with a Fiberlast II insulator pad. Each corner is packed with one-half pound of 12% boric acid treated cotton layered felt. The border area is covered with Celestia mattress fire barrier having a width of twenty-two inches. The excess material is equally divided between the top and bottom of the box spring. The non-skid top panel of the box spring cover is tape edged to the border ticking which is securely attached to the base of the box spring. The bottom of the box spring will have a bond-x dust cover attached and be finished with a corner guards.
