The Lights-Out II series mattress is recommended for use by children. The Lights-Out II Sleep Safe has the feel and density of 1.5 foam. The ticking is a 10.5 ounce per square yard reinforced vinyl laminate that is finished in an hospital mint green. The cover is permanently sewn on to the core. The core is produced of 100% densified polyester batting and is completely recyclable. The mattress core is fire retardant complying with the following fire codes.

All the Lights-Out II models have been tested and meet or exceed the flammability requirements of 16 C.F.R. Section 1633. The new federal flammability standard 16 C.F.R. Section 1633 is an open flame test requiring that a flame be applied to the top of the mattress for seventy seconds while simultaneously a flame is applied to the border area for fifty seconds.

This test must be done by a certified independent laboratory.

What is the difference between the Lights-Out II and Sleep Easy II mattresses?

A The Lights-Out II has a density factor of 1.5 and is only available in a 30 inches or narrow width only. The Sleep Easy II has a density factor of 1.8 and is available in 30-inch, 36-inch, 39-inch, 54-inch and 60-inch widths.

What is the difference between the different model polycore mattresses???

A All the Lights-Out II cores are the same; the outer coverings (tickings) are different. Bio-Pruf, Sleep safe, and Midnight are exactly the same vinyls with the exception of the color. Sleep Cool is a non-woven cloth and is not waterproof. Comfort and Starry Nights are nylon with a urethane backing. The nylon feels like cloth yet performs like vinyl.

What mattress do you recommend children?

A If you are operating a summer camp and will be primarily housing children we feel that the Lights-Out II will be the best value for your dollar.

We operate year round running a youth program in the summer and assorted adult programs the balance of the year. What mattress would you recommend?

A We would recommend the Sleep Easy II. The denser mattress will hold up under adult use and will not lose its resiliency to spring back, thus providing you with a longer life.

How do we clean the mattresses?

A We recommend that you use a solution of water with an anti-bacterial soap and then spray with Lysol or another disinfectant. Using bleach will dry out the vinyl and reduce the productive life of the mattresses.

My mattress has been ripped or has graffiti on it. What can I do?

A Bourdons offers assorted Vinyl Bond patch kits for repairing small tears in the vinyl mattresses. We also offer a wide selection of zippered replacement covers which can refurbish and extend the life of your mattress core.
